Join us for a 90 min Align + Thrive: Unlock your Yoga Potential Workshop designed to deepen your understanding as we delve into the fundamental principles of yoga alignment. Everyone is welcome - all levels, including beginners.
Whether you're new to the mat and want to learn yoga basics, or a seasoned practitioner with a desire to explore and improve your practice this offering will help you refine your yoga postures. Guiding practitioners of all levels toward a safer, more effective, and deeply transformative practice. Through a combination of interactive chats, hands-on adjustments, and targeted instruction, and guided practice sessions, you'll gain a deeper understanding of your body's unique structure and how to align it optimally as we explore 2-3 postures.
Workshop Topics:
- Understanding the Importance of Alignment: How proper alignment fosters growth, stability, and injury prevention in your yoga practice.
- Functional Principles of Alignment: How biomechanics and anatomical structures inform optimal body positioning, ensuring comfort and maximizing benefits.
- The Spine: Your Practice's Backbone: Techniques for aligning and stabilizing the spine, the central conduit for energy flow and overall well-being.
- Grounded Foundations: Aligning feet and legs for stability in standing poses, fostering balance and a strong connection to the Earth.
- Fluid Movement: Shoulder and hip alignment to facilitate graceful transitions between poses and prevent strain.
- Breath and Alignment: The relationship between breath and alignment, and how conscious breathing can deepen your connection to each pose.
- Using Props Effectively: How to utilize blocks, straps, and other props to support proper alignment and facilitate deeper exploration of poses.
- Modifications and Adjustments: How to modify poses to suit individual needs and prevent injury, honoring your body's unique capabilities.
Afterward, enjoy healthy snacks and refreshing drinks to keep you nourished as we wind down. It's a great opportunity to cultivate community and share the yoga journey with other like-minded individuals.
Please wear comfortable stretchy clothes and bring a yoga mat, towel, water and any props needed for comfort (available at TW).
